excerpts regarding politics from Politics from Andre de Guillaume
Politics has its uses, but if you think senators have any real power, think again. Politicians are ruled more by compromise than by their own ambition. They spend endless days dealing with committees and reviews, their hopes and fears dominated by overwhelming desire to be liked. Dem0cracy is the art of achieving nothing by doing a lot.
Few decisions are ever made in a dem0cracy: someone has a bright idea, it is drafted, a committee sits, an enquiry is held, a commission is established, reports are tabled, recommendations are considered, questions asked, memorandums issued. Just as something is about to happen, a new government gets elected and the idea is buried.

Training for Bad Guys by the genius Olly Moss.

At work, they gave me a new responsibility. The responsibility allows me to be what I was taught and trained (not by my school) to be. Furthermore, it allows me to leave the office at least twice a week, for now. They will not reimburse me for gas and parking fees, which stinks. I guess I moved up in the rankings a bit, but I still have to wait until my probationary period ends before I ask for an increase in my salary.
-The new responsibility allows me to go to a place I love to go to; however, this time, it is the other type and in a different location. I’m used to the ones in Manhattan and Queens, not the ones in Nassau and Suffolk.
Why do people think it’s strange that I’m single? I didn’t choose to be single, it chose me. Actually, I’m single because nobody chose me and, nobody will choose me. I’m not content with it, but I live with it. It could always be worse, I could be stuck in an abusive relationship.
Thanks to my…, I better understand the quote, “it is harder to train a human than a dog.”
Thanks to my job, I started to read more books. The reasoning behind this is that I have to use computers for most of the day at work, so reading allows me to avoid technology. You may have noticed, which I doubt, that I’m reading more because of particular posts, e.g., quotes from books. I’m quite proud of myself for having finished two books in one week, I can’t “speed read” as an ex-roommate called it.
I hate Ren & Stimpy!
